*** Dance Classes from 28th Feb 2022 ***

Just wanted to keep you informed…. The doctor has signed me off sick until after my brain operation as I’m deteriorating day by day. The good news is that Haydyn is going to be taking over the Monday and Friday night dance classes until I’m fit and well enough to return. He is taking over the hall bookings and finances completely independently of me, and he has insurance to cover him for group movement classes – so he’s all set and ready to go! Alethea will be partnering him for the Ballroom & Latin classes, and Ruth is also happy to help in the Friday night Vintage classes – thank you so much Haydyn, Alethea and Ruth – I don’t know what I’d do without you xxxxxxxxx

The changes will be implemented from this coming Monday 28th Feb 2022 – I’ve got a lovely long list of simple but sparkly sequence dances for you to get stuck into, along with your usual practice too.

Sadly, the Sunday evening Kizomba and Bachata classes will be on hold for now, but will start up again as soon as I’ve recovered from my brain op.

I’m sure you will all be happy to support Haydyn and continue your dancing – he has 20 years experience dancing Argentine Tango, 8 years of dancing Ballroom & Latin with us, and has been dancing the Vintage styles since I opened those classes up too 🙂 Alethea has been dancing Ballroom & Latin since childhood and has super sparkly footwork, and Ruth is a Vintage superstar with an impressive performance background.

Please pay Haydyn directly for your dance classes in the following way (same class fee):

Paypal: haydyn.brown@btinternet.com

Or by bank transfer to: Please contact Haydyn on the above email for info.
Payment ref: Your name/dancing

I’ll be looking forward to hearing all about your dancing and progress! I’ll try to pop in to say hello if I’m able to, but please know that I will miss you ever so much and am looking forward to dancing with you again sometime soon – please have a dance and a bum wiggle for me in the meantime.

With lots of love as always, Emma xxxxxxxx

Screenshot_2016-05-16-12-37-19-125 February 2016: What a busy few months it’s been!  Lots of lovely dance things going on… lovely classes as usual in Hullavington, plus in December I was invited onto ***BBC Radio Wiltshire*** to comment on the Strictly Come Dancing Final!  And I was also invited to host a Somerset Blitz Party with the amazing Harlem Rhythm Cats Band.  In January I had the great pleasure of working with ***Malmesbury Young Farmers*** to choreograph and train them to dance a Showdance for a Young Farmers Ballroom Dancing Competition – we trained hard over 3 and a bit weeks and came away with 2nd place – well done!!!  I recently had a lovely time with the residents of Cepen Lodge Care Home dancing gentle Waltz and Foxtrot,  I’m looking forward to dancing with the little dancers at Busy Hands PreSchool for their African Experience week, and am loving delivering a year long programme of dance and fitness at the lovely St Joseph’s Primary School in Malmesbury!   Plus it dawned on me that Miss Emma’s in Wiltshire had been open for 2 years now – how lovely.

15 November 2015: What a wonderful Charity Masked Ball yesterday!  It was great to see you all in your masks – you looked fantastic!  Thank you so much for joining me for such a brilliant evening with The Schmoozenbergs to support The Hearth Rhythm Charity & Fibromyalgia Action UK!  Really lovely to see so many dancers mingling together on the dance floor – from Ballroom & Latin, to Tango, to Lindy Hop and Swing – wonderful.  A big thank you to all of my dance students who supported me throughout the whole event – from initial ideas, to setting up and taking down all of my lovely decorations in the hall, to being wonderful hosts on the door, to accompanying me on the radio – THANK YOU for your fun and enthusiasm!!! Lots of love xxxx

September 2015:  Lots of things going on at Miss Emma’s over the past few months – planning and teaching all of my classes, enjoying teaching at St Joseph’s Primary School every Tuesday for the whole day as part of their fitness/PE lessons, plus prepping things for the Chartiy Masked Ball in aid of The Heart Rhythm Charity & Fibromyalgia UK.

21 May 2015: Have had a fabulous dancing week so far – a brilliant time teaching the school children at St Joseph’s in Malmesbury as always.  Really looking forward to their performance tomorrow, can’t wait!  A really great day teaching all the school children (over 300!) at St Mary’s School in Tetbury – my after school club starts there on the 4th June!  And a lovely time teaching at Hullavington Brownies last night too.  Special thanks to my 4 superstar dance girls from my local children’s classes for demonstrating with me and performing – thank you!  You did wonderfully well and there’s no way anyone would have known that was your first performance!  Looking forward to more dancing tomorrow.

04 May 2015: Looking forward to welcoming you to my Posture & Deportment Workshop (my first one in Wiltshire!) this Saturday 9th May 2-5pm (£12).  I regularly help dancers with their ‘poise’ and people struggling with posture related pain issues at my Southampton clinic and I’m really looking forward to bringing this to Wiltshire.  Please contact me if you would like to attend – everyone welcome to this friendly, helpful and encouraging afternoon.

04 May 2015: I can’t believe that our wonderful Blackpool Tower Ballroom day trip was over a week ago now!  It was so magical and so special to be able to share it with you 🙂  That first glimpse of the Ballroom with the gold colours, warm lights and dancers swirling across the floor – a real “Wow!” moment – fabulous.  And being announced by the Wurlitzer Organist too – how cool!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m in the middle of sorting photo copies for you all – hoping to hand them out at classes this Friday – looking forward to seeing you there!

21 Mar 2015: Really looking forward to teaching all the school children at St Joseph’s Primary School in Malmesbury for 6 weeks after Easter – will be great fun!  So wonderful to work with them all and have the opportunity to do a lively, *sparkly* and fun dance performance for all the parents too!

19 Mar 2015: Our Blackpool Tower Ballroom day trip for the end of April is definitely on!  Looking forward to dancing in the famous ballroom.  A few spaces still left in the minibus!

5 Mar 2015: I had so much fun teaching Ballroom & Latin to 150 school children at St Joseph’s in Malmesbury today! Absolutely loved it and they all did so well! Energetic warm-ups to Quickstep music, then dancing some Samba, Jive or Tango, topped off by a cool-down to a very pretty piece of Waltz music – lovely.

24 Feb 2015: I’ve been enjoying teaching Charleston workshops for a lovely group of dancers attending the Mayor’s Ball at the end of Feb! Think I need a cloche hat to honour the occasion… must admit I may have been *slightly* sidetracked by looking up 1920s fashion 😉 Swivel – sparkle – swivel – sparkle!  Looking forward to teaching my Great Gatsby class this week too! Enjoying planning a dance event for a local Arts Festival and looking forward to starting work on my Astaire/Rogers Top Hat class (dancing ‘Cheek to Cheek’) – lots going on to keep me and my lovely dancers occupied!

7 Feb 2015: Miss Emma’s (Wiltshire) has now been open for a year! I’ve had a wonderful dancing time here the past year and have met so many lovely people. I’ve so enjoyed teaching you all and watching your dancing progress – beautiful . Thank you for coming to Miss Emma’s, it’s been a real pleasure getting to know you and having fun together at dancing!
